Confined Space Practical using Breathing Apparatus

The course includes both a theory and practical section.

The trainee should be able to: 

  • Complete confined space pre-entry activities.
  • Describe and explain how to maintain a safe-work environment in a confined space.
  • Describe and explain the main duties required to exit a confined space.
  • Understand the requirement for emergency response and the basic elements of an emergency response plan for confined space.
  • Understand the responsibilities of the tending worker, and SCBA and SABA safety watch.
  • Demonstrate the safe and proper use and selection of a full body harness, and respiratory protective  equipment for confined space entry.
  • Participate in simulated confined space entry according to principles, standards and procedures learned in this course using a harness and breathing apparatus
  • Prerequisite: Confined Space Pre-Entry with Tending Worker, or ESC Confined Space.
  • PPE: Students should bring coveralls, hard hat, work boots, and gloves
