FAQs
First Aid is the immediate care given to someone who is injured or suddenly becomes sick before professional medical help arrives. Taking a First Aid course helps you learn important life-saving techniques, such as CPR, wound care, and emergency response skills, so you can confidently respond to accidents and medical emergencies that may happen at home, work, or in public.
The Basic First Aid course at WCFF is a 1-day course designed for low hazard workers and provides essential first aid and CPR training. The Intermediate First Aid course is a more comprehensive 2-day program that builds upon the Basic First Aid course with more in-depth emergency response training and workplace first aid skills.
All First Aid Training Course Certificates offered by Western Canada Fire & First Aid are valid for 3 Years.
First Aid certification is required in many healthcare environments and industrial workplaces where employees need to be prepared to respond to medical emergencies. It is also valuable for teachers, childcare workers, coaches, and anyone who wants the skills and confidence to help in an emergency situation at work, at home, or in the community. In general, everyone should have First Aid training, as having the knowledge to respond quickly in an emergency could potentially save someone’s life.
No previous experience is required. First Aid and CPR courses are designed for beginners as well as individuals renewing existing certifications.
