Wheel Loader Skilled Operator
Who Should Attend?
Skilled operators who operate an excavator as part of their work and are in need of certification. A skilled operator is one who has at least 100 hours of recent experience operating a Wheel Loader.
Under the scrutiny of an evaluator, the skilled operator will demonstrate their ability to operate the Wheel Loader in a safe and efficient manner through a series of driving and operating exercises. Practical assessments take approximately 20-30 minutes.
Wheel Loader New Operator
Who Should Attend?
A new operator is one who does not have over 100 hours of recent experience operating an excavator. This course is intended for those needing the training required to meet the basic and knowledge to operate an Wheel Loader safely.
The new operator will learn how to operate the machine performing the basic duties for what it was intended to perform under the direct supervision of an instructor. They will gain about 2-3 hours of operating experience on the piece of equipment; demonstrating their ability to operate the equipment in a safe and efficient manner through a series of driving and operating exercises.
Course Outline
The course includes both a theory and practical section. The theory portion includes the following topics:
• Workplace requirements
• Safe operation of the machine
• Contents of the machines operators manual
The practical portion includes demonstrating the ability to safely:
• Manoeuvre the excavator through a series of obstacles
• Change attachments
• Use the attachment
Course Details
Length: Theory: Two – Three hours – Practical will depend on if you are a skilled, or new operator
Certificate: Valid for three years
Prerequisite: None
Cost: Skilled – $225.00. New – $625.00
Note: Smaller class sizes may result in the student taking the theory in our computer lab with the instructor present to monitor and assist the student. Practical components will be taught in-person with the guidance and supervision of the instructor.
